Somerville High School’s 2025 Junior/Senior prom was celebrated at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick on June 6th. The occasion was held later in the year than usual and became a nice cap to the end of the year for seniors. This later start also allowed promposals to take center stage in the weeks leading up to prom night. An instagram account was started showcasing the punny signs and pictures of each couple. On prom night Brady Scheier, ‘25 revealed himself as the mastermind behind this pre-prom operation.

The evening began with an elegant cocktail and social hour followed by dancing and a DJ. During this dancing a conga line formed, weaving joyfully around the entire ballroom. Students enjoyed a buffet-style dinner and the main attraction of the food scene: an icecream bar. All of this happened as Normandy Studios snapped many photos of the night, so the students could remember forever. The most popular gown choices seemed to be sparkly maxi-dresses and sleek satin maxi dresses with corset tops. The color theme followed by many of the year’s female attendees was pastel colors, with light yellow emerging as the color of the night.
Meanwhile, the gentlemen’s suits seen this year varied from light gray to all black, with some colorful bow ties making an appearance.
The dance floor was the main attraction of the night, becoming a hotspot where attendees joined together, shedding inhibitions, and danced like there was no tomorrow.

Then after all of the dining and dancing, prom royalty announcements were to be made. The attendees crowned CJ Banos as prom king and Prom Queen Rylie Wilson with their next in line to the throne being Kaylee Lauber and Denis Music.
Ultimately, the prom 2025 was an exciting and fulfilling night for many students who attended.
