Hard work and determination drive our team to success year after year. The Somerville Pioneers are holding an undefeated winning streak for the 2024 season. Through their perseverance, we have seen new faces proving their worth, and old faces proving why they are still there. To start the season, the Pioneers went through a tough home game against the Hillsborough Raiders. Terrell Mitchell scored two touchdowns, and Brady Scheier scored one. For their second game, the Pioneers went to Cranford, beating them 32-14 with three touchdowns from Josh Rodriguez, a singular touchdown from Spencer Carran, and the same for Terrell Mitchell. Their third game of the season was also a victory, winning 42-7 against Montgomery. The game consisted of a 30 yard touchdown from Brenden Pacheco along with two touchdowns from Terrell Mitchell and one each from Josh Rodriguez and Brady Scheier.
Terrell Mitchell continued to dominate in the second half of the season— his longest being a 72-yard return. The Pioneers were at Hillside for their fifth game where they beat them 22-0 with two touchdowns from Terrell Mitchell and one from Josh Rodriguez. Next, they played the undefeated Summit, scoring an astounding 41-0 with two touchdowns from Brady Scheier, Max Nuzzi, and one from Brenden Pacheco, along with Terrell Mitchell. Next, they played North Hunterdon, beating them 56-7 with four touchdowns from Terrell Mitchell, two from Josh Rodriguez, along with one from Justin Bowen, and Leo Altomari. For their eighth game, they played Plainfield who they beat 30-7 with two touchdowns from Terrell Mitchell, and Josh Rodriguez, along with one from Brady Schier. For their last game they brought over Watchung Hills, beating them 45-7 with two touchdowns from Terrell Mitchell, Josh Rodriguez, James Hampton, also a touchdown from Max Nuzzi. The question is with the playoffs coming up will any team be able to stop them?
