As the lights went out, 6,000 people eagerly awaited the first chords of “Felt Good About You.” However they might have been labeled outside of the venue (nerd, jock, or band kid), at that moment, they were all one, anticipating the arrival of Gracie Abrams. When the long-awaited notes were finally played, the crowd erupted, standing on their tippy toes, on chairs, or peeking in between heads to get their first look at the person they had waited about 132 days to see.

The closing night of Abrams’ sold-out three-night run at Radio City Music Hall had to be rescheduled to October 14th after the artist suffered from a vocal injury the night before the original show date. This would cause her to move both her last Radio City show and her show at The Met in Philadelphia. Now the second to last show of the US leg of the tour, the change made Abram’s final night at Radio City Hall a little more memorable. In a surprise announcement, Abrams revealed that the audience would be thanked for their patience through the release of a deluxe version of The Secret of Us, out that Friday, October 18th.
Due to the show being rescheduled, the opening act, Role Model, who had performed at all of the other shows on the tour, could not make an appearance. Abrams also moved up the concert’s start time, coming on stage at 8:30 p.m. This change gave fans just enough time to grab merchandise and use the bathroom before Abrams took the stage for her last night in New York.
After performing the entire first song behind the stage, Abrams stepped up to the microphone stand with her guitar to perform her radio hit, “Risk.” Throughout the show, Abrams made her way through the entire The Secret of Us album while throwing in some fan favorites and hits from her past albums. A little less than halfway through her setlist, Abrams surprised her fans by playing both a new song from the deluxe version of her album entitled “That’s so True,” and a surprise song from her first album, Good Riddance.

Abrams addressed the audience multiple times throughout the show. She used the time to thank her fans and talk about the new version of the album, and the importance of certain songs. Unlike some artists, she also used her platform to speak about the organizations she had partnered with during the tour. Abrams partnered with Planned Parenthood and Headcount to spread awareness about growing issues in America. On stage, Abrams stressed the importance of voting according to your values and even expressed some of her own in an attempt to encourage her fans to think about Election Day.
